You need to become Auto-Ware

So we’ve probably all tried to read the manual that comes with our data logger. You’ve probably also read a book or two (hopefully you’ve check out the great bibliography that Peter Krause put together here). And since your reading this, you’ve probably read a number of feature articles here.

Another great avenue for learning data analysis is the Auto-Ware Webinars done by John Block. The webinars are split into the “Original” and “Advanced” sessions. While I would say the original has pieces of advanced analysis involved, it is very accessible and easily followed by anyone who knows how to use their data software. Not only does he give you lots of formulas specific to your make of data system, but he explains what the formula does and gives you a methodology to analyzing your data.

The advanced classes build upon the beginning classes and really dive deep into the analysis. John takes his years of experience as an engineer in Trans-Am, Indy Lights, Indycar, Cart, and stints working for Mazda’s Group C team and works it into real life examples and not only gives you the data analysis, but gives you the car and driver analysis. His real world experience and ability to transfer his knowledge is second to none.

The classes are a deal at $125 each for the original and advanced session (provided you’ve taken the original). You can look at it as $25 an hour for close to one on one instruction from a real race engineer. You’ll easily save yourself that much money in time analyzing data  and trying to drive faster. For anyone who signs up, if you include the word “TrailBrake” in the special instructions box while checking out, it will help to support this website. With that help, we’ll be able to keep doing our Quick Data Check cards, shirts, and more to come!
